Screw out Bistro at Bukit Jalil
Screw out Bistro, a wine and whiskey bar we found at Bukit Jalil, 10 minutes drive away from Puchong.

Sometimes, the best nights begin with no plans at all—just the need to unwind. That’s how I stumbled upon Screw Out Bistro, quietly nestled in Bukit Jalil’s Aurora Place. From the outside, it looks like a typical wine and whiskey bar. But the moment you step in, you’re greeted not with formality, but familiarity.
1. Wine and Whiskey Bar
They know their wine—deeply, passionately. But the best part? They never judge. Whether you’re opening a RM150 bottle or simply sipping beer, you can just let your hair down and enjoy. No need to impress, just come as you are.
And if wine isn’t your thing, don’t worry—they also serve beer. It’s a casual kind of place where cracking open a cold one feels just right after a long day. Whether you’re unwinding solo or catching up with friends, a simple beer here somehow tastes better—maybe it’s the company, maybe it’s the comfort.

2. Must Try: Chicken wing
The chicken wings here are a must-try. Marinated in-house, not those frozen store-bought ones. You can taste the difference in every bite.
3. Outside food ALLOWED
We brought our own food, and they didn’t blink. In fact, they brought out plates, cutlery, even wine glasses—each one sparkling clean. Carol told me they handwash every glass, avoiding soap unless there’s lipstick, and dry them with wine cloths. No dishwasher shortcuts. No cheap glassware either. Just care, quietly offered.

4. Wine Glass and cleanliness

This is a big deal for me. At Screw Out Bistro Bukit Jalil, their wine glass is spotless, and they are not using cheap glasses. I asked whether they put it in the dishwasher to achieve the shine. Carol shares that they never put wine glass into dishwasher, indeed wash them without soap (unless there’s lip stick stain), and wipe with wine glass clothes.
Even the cutleries they provided so we can eat outside food, was heavy and quality forks and spoons.

5. Free Karaoke
Karaoke is available and free, but I left the singing to the others. I was content just sipping and soaking in the mellow air.
6. Their owner Carol and Alex
Carol and Alex, the owners, are the kind of people who make you feel welcome just by being themselves. Friendly, witty, but never intrusive—they somehow know when to chat, and when to give space. It’s the kind of warmth you don’t always find in wine bars.
7. Cons: smell of smoke
Of course, there are quirks. People do smoke here, and that might not be for everyone. Also, Aurora Place isn’t the most inviting mall. The basement parking can feel a little too quiet, so valet is our go-to.
8. Cons: Business Hour
And since this is a small business, business hours aren’t always fixed. Best to text Carol ahead.

9. Price tag
Last night we checkout at RM170, including wine and chicken wings.
But in all its imperfections, Screw Out Bistro feels real. A place that doesn’t pretend. A place that remembers your face. A quiet corner of Bukit Jalil where stories begin, and stress melts gently into the rim of a wine glass.
