My Weekend – May 2026

Saturday felt completely different from the peaceful pace of Friday. The whole day was packed from the start. I had back-to-back piano classes until 1pm, and by the time I finished, my brain already felt tired even though the day was only halfway through. I took about an hour to lunch and rest before heading out again. We left at 2:30pm and somehow only reached the office around 3:30pm, bad traffic! Even the plan to pick up my cousin at 3:45pm got delayed until around 4:10pm. The entire afternoon felt like one long chain of rushing from one thing to another.

After that, we headed to Sunway Pyramid, and honestly, getting parking already felt like a miracle. Lucky day. We met my sister briefly, and I realised sometimes I simply enjoy seeing familiar faces more than doing anything special. From there, we rushed again to Sunway Square for the movie, but somehow we ended up early. I cannot even remember the last time I sat through cinema commercials properly.

The Michael Jackson movie was honestly amazing. Watching it made me strangely emotional. I always carry this tiny guilt knowing I only discovered Michael Jackson after he had already passed away. I never really had MTV or proper internet access when I was younger, so his era completely missed me at the time. I think my first real “internet artist” was Lady Gaga.

So hearing songs like Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough in the cinema felt exciting in a way I didn’t expect.

Sunday – The Hiking Trail

Yesterday felt surprisingly full in the best way. I started the day with a hike at Bukit Gasing. My third hike with Tar. The trail was moderately muddy follow the rain from yesterday. I always like how quiet my mind becomes after walking through trees for a while. Right after the hike, I bought an unsweetened soy milk. I honestly cannot remember the last time I drank soy milk. Somehow it tasted extra good after the trail, maybe because I was so tired and thirsty. Small things really feel different when you slow down enough to notice them. I also bought non sweetened taufufa to go with soy sauce later. savoury style.

Pic one is what I captured with my phone. Pic 2 is what I saw with my eyes, I asked chatgpt to sketch for me haha. Like you know, my eyes focus and see far away, grand and majestic, but my phone focus on the near trees and leaves instead.

Attack on Titan

After getting home, I taught two piano classes. In between classes, I continued watching Attack on Titan and reached the part where Eren carried the giant stone to block the gate. That scene was honestly so cool. The music, the tension, everyone protecting him while he walked forward slowly — it made the whole moment feel so epic. I can understand now why so many people love the series. I even posted a short piano clips of “Call your name”. It gotten a few likes from strangers not long after I posted. Thank you strangers!

Groceries Shopping

Later in the afternoon, I accidentally took a one-hour nap that turned out to be one of those perfect naps where you wake up feeling completely reset. After that, I went grocery shopping and bought many things that I genuinely like eating. Natto, unsweetened green tea, yogurt, coffee, a half off greens, baguette. It sounds simple, but being able to buy food and little comforts for myself made me feel grateful. Nothing huge happened yesterday, but it felt balanced, peaceful, and warm. I think those are the kinds of days worth remembering too.”
